The collective is currently working on an ACTION PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER feature film shot in Western Sydney titled "Echo 8".

FOUNDER & CEO
Maria Tran has been in the film industry for the past 10 years as director, producer and founder and CEO of Phoenix Eye. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology, Western Sydney University and is known for developing the martial arts action film genre in Australia via the Asian diaspora communities of Western Sydney through her shorts such as Hit Girls, Gaffa, Enter The Dojo; her contributions on Australian television; Maximum Choppage and movies outside of Australia; Roger Corman's Fist of the Dragon, Death Mist and Vietnamese action blockbuster Tracer. During her time at Phoenix Eye, Maria has been commissioned to deliver over 12 documentaries, branded video content and serve as a cutting edge role as film director & producer.
Currently she is Directing, Producing and is the lead actress to the upcoming feature film "Echo 8".
Therese has a Certificate IV in Screen and Media and a Diploma of Visual Arts - and since becoming a part of the Phoenix Eye collective in 2017, has become a key creative, utilising a keen eye for storytelling through editing and sound design. Therese has developed and implemented projects such as Penrith City Council’s “Digital Time Capture”, “Little Baghdad Project”. She has since been a Production Assistant for the webseries NIGHTWALKERS and was the Associate Producer for the upcoming feature film 'Echo 8'.
Nancy Ann Trieu is a creative art director specialising in photography since 2010 graduated with a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communications) Honours at WSU. Becoming a key creative of Phoenix Eye since 2018 working as a creative producer and developing her skills as an emerging Director of Photography. Nancy is passionate in creating powerful work with people and concepts through storytelling visuals with the use of her love of lighting.Through years of developing her eye, her appreciation for the finer details in all her images can be seen in the use of lighting, connecting with the people on set, sourcing and styling outfits even to the details of makeup and hair. Having three major exhibitions under her - 'Virtuous Decadence' at GAFFA Gallery, 'The Making of An Empress' + 'Parlez-vous Absinthe?' at the Barometer Gallery Paddington and ‘Primordial’ collaborative exhibition with Maria Tran in Fairfield School of Arts. She has since been working on film projects such as assisting on set in ‘Fat Pizza’ Channel 7 Mate, social media editor for company ‘Success Resources’, camera assisted + makeup-hair + acted in ‘NIGHTWALKERS’ ABC iview, camera assisted for a comedy horror short film ‘Tent’ and was the Director of Photography and Art Director for the upcoming feature film ‘Echo 8’.
Takashi Hara is a performing artist and martial artist born in the Aichi prefecture of Japan.
After graduating Uni, He moved to Tokyo. He studied at the Himawari Theatre Acting School, specialising in voice training, singing, ballet, Japanese traditional dance and various martial arts.
He also became proficient in the French Bella acting system from Masako Okada, who was honoured the medal of Chevalier (Knight) of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in 1996.
From 2013, Takashi focused on the Chinese style martial arts of Wushu, Taichi and Xing Yi quan. In 2015 he learnt traditional Chinese martial arts at the Qufu Shaoling Kung Fu school in China. After Returning to Japan, he won the Wushu championship at Otaku Tokyo in weaponry.
In 2016, Takashi moved to Sydney, Australia career. Here, he has produced numerous works as an actor, model and martial artist. These include the feature film Head Above Water (2018) as a Japanese news anchor and the Daily Bread (2018) action feature film Operation Agneepath (2019) as a Karate Yakuza.
Takashi has also done some TVC work for Foxtel, Macquarie Bank, and Lexus.
Now Takashi works as an associate producer at Western Sydney film production company PHOENIX EYE Pty Ltd
Elizabeth H. Vu
Elizabeth H. Vu is a screenwriter based in Sydney. She has written several short films that have been produced by filmmakers all over the world including Mr Ghost, The Radio Singer, The Equivalent of X, Level One and Under the Bed. She recently wrote a feature film called, “The Perception” starring Eric Roberts and Nick Bateman. Her frequent collaborations with Phoenix Eye include the short film, “Roses” and the upcoming webseries, “Mai Bich Planet.”
Emily hopes to inspire people by telling stories and showing them a unique perspective to things. She is most experienced in filming and editing but is also a bit of an all-rounder. When given
the chance to travel somewhere for work, Emily will do anything she can to
grab hold of the opportunity..
